International Conference on Fisheries and Aquaculture held at GCU, attracted more than 500 attendees from government, private sector and academia. The two day conference focused on addressing the challenges of local farmers and discussed how local fish consumption can be improved. Aqua farmers were gathered at Aqua Idea Farmers session, an open forum to discuss their challenges and get support from international experts and academic professionals. John Sweetman, Aqua International Project Manager for Alltech had also graced the event. Speakers emphasized that research must be at the forefront of positive changes that will ensue our food systems are sustainable while caring about high health and welfare standards for fish. As part of Alltech Aqua Value Creation Model, a latest publication “Inside/Out”, a book about fish skin, gills and gut was also launched.
